Implementing any level of performance management system doesn’t happen with simply a two-day training session. It didn’t with any of the client case studies we have included here (see below), and it can’t at your organization either. To see results takes work and follow-through from the first tentative step all the way through until the project is complete, process is improved or vision is achieved.
See if this scenario rings a bell: You contract for an expensive strategic planning workshop. At the end of it, your consultant gives you a bound book that summarizes your plan. Does that book cause your business to be more successful?
It might – if it is used.
But in the vast majority of cases, that nicely bound book turns up a year or so later, collecting dust on a bookshelf.
What makes a successful performance management system implementation?
Two key components make a successful implementation:

- Follow up that continues throughout the entire process.
